English Module - preparatory course

Short information:

• The English Module has been designed to give students a solid foundation of the English language and vocabulary before taking up undergraduate or graduate regular studies or starting professional work in Poland or abroad;
• The English Module is the perfect preparation for taking up language proficiency tests on minimum B2 level, such as:

- IELTS (International English Language Testing System),

- TOEFL

The above mentioned certificates are recognized by major universities, companies and professional institutions in the world and practically all universities in Poland, including Krakow University of Economics.

• The English Module is open to general public;

The benefits of English Module:

• improve the English language from level B1 to B2 and learn basic Polish
• preparation for language proficiency tests, passing of which will lead to obtain a certificate,  recognized worldwide
• support in registration process for the relevant language proficiency test
• improve mathematics skills which will be an integral part of the future studies (on both: economics or technical studies)
• simplify adaptation process to a new environment
• use all the University's facilities - the library, computer labs and sport facilities
• enjoy help of mentors - Polish students who offer assistance during your stay in Krakow
• meet students from all around the World
• participate in cultural activities such as Krakow tour, museum visits, concerts;
• candidates can take the full programme that includes more than 480 teaching hours (general English, business English) or the basic programme that includes only general English; in the second option there is possibility to take extra courses – students can choose among Polish, business English or mathematics;

The courses’ contents are described below:

• English course 

480h of English language, level B1/B2

Price: 2500 € (The price includes: study books, welcoming lunch, field trip - sightseeing)

The English Module lasts one academic year, starting from October  1^st  till June 30^th;

The English Module ends with a final language exam (level B2). After passing the exam, the participants will obtain the certificate confirming the participation in the course and the grade received.

After completion the course, the participants register and take up the chosen language proficiency test on their own (eg. IELTS, TOEFL), fulfilling of which will lead to obtaining the certificate, enabling them to enroll for undergraduate or graduate regular studies in Poland (including Cracow University of Economics) or abroad.  The International Programmes Office can support the canditates in registration process for the relevant language proficiency test on demand.

Recruitment: DUE TO TOO LOW INTEREST OF THE COURSE IT WILL NOT BE RUN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/24.

In order to be enrolled to one of these programmes candidates will be asked to submit all the other documents required and pay the tuition fee.

Please note that the course participants will not have student status and will not be given student's ID card.

Admissions

• STEP 1: till 18.08.2023 - submitting documents:

1. Application form - filled and signed
2. Proof of English language competence: confirmation of attending English classes on A2/B1 level or one of the accepted certificates - mail
3. Copy of passport/ID Card - mail
4. Medical Certificate concerning candidate's health - mail
5. 1 photo (35mm x 45mm) -mail

• STEP 2 21.08 -25.08.2023 online recruitment interview (Teams)

• STEP 3: till 01.09.2023 - Tuition fee payment

Acceptance letters sent after 04.09.2023 (Acceptance Letter will be sent after paying tuition fee!)

• STEP 4: till 30.09.2023 - submitting documents:

1. Copy of health insurance covering entire period of studies in Poland (from October 2016 till June 2017)
2. Copy of visa/residence permition (more information: Małopolski Urząd Wojewódzki w Krakowie)
