General rules for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP)

1. Blended Intensive Programme must be designed and implemented by at least three ECHE-awarded higher education institutions from at least three programme countries (i.e. the minimum composition of a consortium is e.g. UEK and 2 other universities from 2 different countries).

2. Universities involved in the organisation of BIP are obliged to sign a multilateral agreement concerning the organisation of BIP.

3. Length: 5-30 days of physical mobility combined with an obligatory virtual part. Physical mobility is understood as going abroad to the country of the BIP organiser in order to realise the BIP programme agreed between the involved partner universities. Virtual mobility is understood to mean the realisation of the virtual component of the BIP, which takes place remotely and enables all participants involved in the BIP to work as a team.

4. The BIP should provide added value compared to existing programmes in the field of study. It should consist of specialised content that will significantly enrich students' knowledge and learning techniques.

5. The programme should provide significantly new opportunities for learning, skill development, access to information and latest research findings and other knowledge.

6. The number of teaching and training hours must ensure that the majority of the time spent abroad is related to education and training and not to research or any other activity.

7. The BIP trip is accounted for in the same way as the partial study abroad trip, i.e. also in terms of the content (Learning Agreement, document confirming the successful completion of the courses with grades and ECTS credits, course description in the language of the student's choice, and the number of hours spent abroad). ECTS, description of courses in a foreign language, financial agreement, etc.). The trip is accounted for on the basis of confirmation of the acquired educational results and/or realisation of a specific programme, which is connected with the course of study.

8. The University may invite to participation in the BIP those students who fulfil the criteria/requirements concerning the level of knowledge/skills necessary to participate in the programme and who, in accordance with the Erasmus+ rules and regulations of the University, will be recognised/recognised for participation in the intensive programme and obtaining 3 ECTS.

9. The rules for the recruitment of participants must be defined in the group of partners organising the BIP and be observed in each university participating in the implementation of the BIP.

10. A student/doctoral student may be granted a BIP mobility if he/she has sufficient mobility capital. The mobility capital for each degree programme (I, II or III) is 360 days or 720 days for a Master's degree programme. In each case the period the student stayed as an Erasmus+ scholar on a given degree programme in the past (with or without a scholarship, at CUE, another Polish or foreign university or organisation) will be deducted from the maximum total mobility capital. CUE must have students'/doctoral students' statements on previous participation in the Erasmus+ programme.

11. For organising the trip to participate in the BIP, the participant (student, doctoral student, employee) may not draw other funds from the European Union.

12. The BIP covered by these rules must take place (physical and virtual mobility) by 30 June 2023.

13. All BIP participants going on BIP (students/doctoral students/staff) must be paid a grant by the sending university. The amount of the BIP scholarship for students/doctoral students regardless of the country of departure is 70 euro/day for 5 to 14 days of stay and 50 euro/day for 15 to 30 days of stay, plus up to 2 days for travel.

14. Students/doctoral students with a disability certificate and/or receiving a social allowance at the CUE at the moment of eligibility additionally receive a single lump sum of 100 euros, regardless of the country of departure and the length of stay, and a lump sum for travel according to the same rules as for employees.

15. Employees are granted the scholarship according to daily rates depending on the country of departure.

16. Employees shall also be entitled to a travel lump sum to cover travel costs. The amount of the lump sum depends on the distance between Cracow (place of commencement of travel) and the destination and the choice of the means of transport. The distance of one-way travel must be taken into account in order to calculate the lump sum payable for the return journey. The distance will be calculated using a distance calculator developed by the European Commission and made available on the Erasmus+ website
